Parashara Drekkana Chart is widely used in Vedic astrology due to its detailed representation of various aspects of life. According to Sage Parashara, Planets in the first 10° sign are positioned in the drekkana chart in the same sign. Planets in the middle 10° of the sign are placed in the 5th drekkana chart from the sign. Lastly, the planets in the last 10° of a sign are placed in the 9th drekkana chart from the sign. Three sages rule these 1st, 2nd, 3rd drekkanas, and they denote varying attributes of soul, mind, and five senses.
1st drekkana- this is represented by Sage Naradha; He is known for sheer devotion, nature of the soul is denoted by this house. Planets in the Drekkanas ruled by Sage Naradha denote the spiritual and karmic patterns of the native and its relation to the siblings.
5th drekkana - Sage Agastya is a powerful Saptarshi with immense knowledge and intellect. This house represents the mind. This signifies the mental and psychological aspects of the native.
