Simple Steps to Perform Mantra Chanting

  • Choose a comfortable spot with good ventilation. Clean the space before beginning, as untidy places can affect your aura.
  • Sit cross-legged or on a chair with your spine erect, hands and shoulders relaxed. Cotton clothes are preferred for better aeration.
  • Close your eyes and let your mind settle or focus on the chosen mantra.
  • Chant the mantra 11 or 108 times (or in multiples of 108 if time permits). You can use japa mala beads, prayer beads, or an app to track the count.
  • Be mindful of the mantra. If your mind wanders, don’t get angry or frustrated; gently bring your focus back.
  • After completing the chant, remain seated with eyes closed for 2-3 minutes to fully absorb the mantra’s benefits.
  • Avoid chanting immediately after heavy meals.
