Calculation
Each sign is divided into 45 parts of 0 degrees 40’ each called Akshavedamsa. The whole zodiac system has about 540 Akshavedamsas.
D45 chart is created based on the nature of the sign a planet is placed in the natal chart,
- For movable signs, Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn- count from Aries
- for fixed signs, Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius- count from Leo
- for dual signs, Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces- count from Sagittarius.
To locate the correct house to place the planet,
Check which Akshavedamsa the planet falls in. If it is between 13-24, subtract 12 from the number, and it will denote the sign where the planet will go. 21st Akshavedamsa -(21-12=9) count 9 houses from the sign.
If it’s between 25-36, subtract 24 and 37-45, subtract 36, and it will denote the sign where the planet should go. 30th Akshavedamsa = (30-24= 6) count 6 houses from the sign.
