Hora Chart

Hora chart explains the material wealth of an individual. It is an extension of the 2nd house of the birth chart. It reflects income generation, wealth gains, and asset building. It can also show Social, psychological, and Emotional balances since it deals with Planets Sun and Moon horas.

D2 Chart Calculation

Various sastras like Brihat Parashara Hora Sastra, Brihat Jataka, Saravali, and Phaldeepika have unanimously formulated a similar Hora Chart calculation. In this chart, the 30-degree sign is divided into two horas of 15 degrees each. So, a Hora means half a sign. It represents the day and night cycles- the Sun and Moon horas. There are about a total of 12 * 2 = 24 horas for all signs.

On the D2 chart, Sun's hora is translated as Leo sign and Moon's area as Cancer sign. This means a sign has two hora signs only- Leo and Cancer. D2 hora chart calculation is based on the nature of the sign. A planet is posited in a natal chart.

The first half (0- 15°) of an odd sign is ruled by Sun Hora and the second half (15°-30°) by Moon Hora

It is reversed for even signs, i.e., the first half is ruled by Moon's hora and the second half by Sun's hora.

Purpose of the D2 Chart

Wealth matters can be deeply analyzed through this D2 chart. This chart is the primary key to examine the wealth-related challenges of a native.

Hora chart fetches every micro detail about the Dhana Bhava of the Natal chart- House of possessions. Family health, upbringing, traditions, and cultural values can be interpreted from this chart. 

D2 chart denotes Vaak Siddhi of a native- the ability to communicate, influence through words, and the authority on the language and tone. Linguistic prowess can be learnt from this chart. 

Family wealth, both material gains and value systems are represented in this chart.

Financial wellbeing, Liquid assets of native-like treasuries, art valuables, precious jewelry, and methods of accumulating these wealth possessions are indicated.

Since this chart deals with Sun and Moon horas, it can yield information on the emotional and spiritual quotient of the native; also the creative, maternal and nurturing side of an individual. 

Interpretation

The calculation above shows that ascendant and planets can be placed either in Leo or Cancer. D2 chart has 12 houses, and only 2 signs will be occupied (over-crowded or almost vacant). It is also important to understand the exact longitude degree of the planet in a sign because planets are usually at their strongest in the first 1/3rd of the Hora, moderate in the 2/3rd, and weak/least powerful towards the end of Hora.

For instance, if Jupiter is in Aries at 17 degrees, the Hora of the Moon will be Cancer (odd sign-refer table above), and Jupiter would be powerful because 17 degrees is at the beginning of the Hora range of 15 - 30 degrees.

Common Inferences on D2

According to Rishi Parashra, planets in both Sun and Moon horas should be in equal proportions for a well-balanced spiritual and material life.

Planets like Jupiter, Sun, and Mars are highly beneficial in Leo's sign in the D-2 chart. This signifies tremendous creative energy towards wealth.

Planets Moon, Venus, and Saturn are beneficial in the sign of Cancer-Moon hora; this signifies wealth through nurturing or conserving.  

Planet Mercury performs well in both signs. When placed along with benefic planets shows enhanced goodness and shows moderate or nil benefit when associated with malefic combinations.

This chart also shows the fruits of the 11th house of Natal chart in its magnified version of the 2nd house.  

If the hora lord is aspected by benefic or friendly planets, the native tends to be virtuous, intelligent, and rich.

If the Lagna lord is posited in his own hora, then the native lives a happy, prosperous life.

If the hora Lagna is inconjunct by debilitated planets or malefic planets, the native shows selfish, deceitful behavior and leads an unhappy life.

Mixed planets show mixed, mediocre results.

Rahu in Sun's hora shows wealth acquired through immigration or from overseas countries. Ketu remains neutral in moon hora; however, it shows wealth from sharp objects in Sun hora- butchery, leather industries, etc.

Saturn denotes ongoing hard work and turmoil if placed in Sun hora.
